Name Pennant taken
from the 2,480 ton Argentinian fishing vessel
NARWAL.Commandered and engaged in spying
operations during the FALKLANDS WAR.
On 9th May 1982
after shadowing the British Fleet the vessel was
bombed and straffed by two 800 NAS Sea Harriers,
then boarded by ropes from Sea King Helicopters
by the SBS.
This is the GENUINE
ARTICLE - removed prior to its sinking and
has been in my possession since the 9th May
1982.
Pennant shaped and
measuring - at the widest part of the triangle
36" inches x 136" inches in length
approximately - (this was probably originaly
144" making it 12ft as the extreme tip was missing).
With a white cotton background and red cotton
lettering individually stitched to BOTH sides -
spelling out NARWAL. The rope attachments to
broad end are intact.
Most importantly -
the manufacturers logo badge - sewn on "SHIPMATE",
white lettering on a blue background.
Any questions
about this item are welcome - the photograph
shows the incident with two Sea Kings hovering
above the Narwal, but is not included in sale.
Many thanks for
looking.
